Always a Great Time!!!
JOY Fellowship
Thursday,May 22 Guest Speaker, Art Bailey, Franklin Graham Festival Director

If you are looking for a great time with other seniors, then join us for our monthly luncheon. The lunches are always good as we either provide lunch or have a pot-luck. The programs are very interesting and entertaining. You will laugh, learn and love all that is going on as we share together around the tables.

Each month about a 100 seniors gather in the Fellowship Hall for this always festive occasion. Plans are made each month at JOY Council for the upcoming months. Feel free to join us in the Fellowship Hall at 11:00 a.m. prior to JOY Fellowship as we plan and coordinate the work among the senior adults of the church and community.

Joy Singers Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m.

JOY Singers is the Senior Adult Choir of our church.  Rehearsals are at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday mornings in the Choir Room from Sept through May.  This group of dedicated seniors loves to share in the fun of making music together and taking it to the community. The JOY Singers welcomes all seniors who love to praise the Lord.  In addition to singing in church, we make monthly trips to sing for others in retirement homes.  Come and experience the JOY of the Lord!

Senior Adults Billy Graham 014
I felt like I was in Heaven
Michael Atkinson

Seeing the Library of the greatest evangelist of the 20th century was very special.   Our senior adult group filled the bus as we went to Charlotte to see and experience this magnificent library displaying the life of Billy Graham. Music played across the immaculate grounds as we took in the view of Dr. Graham's boyhood home to our left and his late wife, Ruth's grave site to the right.  In the middle was the library as you see in the picture.   I felt like I was in Heaven as I watched people walk towards the "cross" entrance of the exhibit building.  Everyone was filled with awe as we walked from room to room that gave tribute to Billy Graham and glory to God. The decades of evangelism across the world made us realize how far reaching his ministry truly is.

This day trip like many of our others was very enriching and fulfilling.  The fellowship, the sites, the leisurely pace all added up to another great event.  Please join us on our next trip.  Perhaps you have a place in mind that might be fun to visit!

Mepkin Abbey Creche Exhibit

We had a wonderful day trip to Mepkin Abbey in November to see the Crèche Exhibit.  This exhibit took ur breath away as Nativity sets from around the world were on display.  We saw Nativities that are priceless and others that are made from very common elements such as leaves.  Nativities from Europe, Asia, South America and other international sites showed us how each culture/people group portrays the Birth of Christ in their own culture.

Roger Clark Potter Cross
JOY Fellowship Annual Fish Fry & Photos
Michael Atkinson

Almost 200 people gathered for this annual event of great food, fellowship and inspiration.  The Potter/Preacher, Rev. Roger Clark did an outstanding job of reminding us that God is in control of our lives and we are vessels in His hands.  Truly this event was Spirit-filled and was one of the high water marks in our church this year.  Enjoy the photos.
