I remember an old saying, “money follows missions”. Summerville Baptist Church is an Acts1:8 church, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends or the earth.”

 We are to be witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ in Summerville (Jerusalem), and in all South Carolina (Judea) and the United States (Samaria), and around the world (to the ends of the earth), only if we are equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit. How do we get that power? By believing totally in the Bible and what it tells us about the life and Christian living.

 When we receive the power of the Holy Spirit we “also give freely of our tithes and our time to the Lord and our Church. It says in Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the store house. Test me in this, “says the Lord Almighty”, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.  God said, “test me in this”. All we lack is the faith that God will do what He says. Just think of the bounty we would have at Summerville Baptist Church if we just had enough faith and everyone tithed 10%. What we could for the Kingdom of God in our town, state, country and around the world would be unbelievable.

 How many people could we send we on mission if money was not a problem and the church could afford to pay for the trip? I know from experience that a lot of people do not go on mission because of the expense. How many souls will be lost forever, because we were not there?

 My challenge to everyone is: “test God”. Have faith that Hew will provide for all your needs and five freely of your money and your time to the Kingdom of God.
