Joe Wren

 Joe Wren has served as Senior Pastor of Summerville Baptist since 1990.  Throughout the years, Dr. Wren has helped the church to grow spiritually, numerically and in size with the addition of new buildings.  Dr. Wren holds degrees from Winthrop College, Southeastern Seminary and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.   Frequently serving on various denominational committees, Dr. Wren has most recently served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Charleston Southern University.

 Joe and Kaye are the parents of 3 adult children and have 4 grandchildren.  He enjoys golfing, football, (especially Tennessee) and relaxing around the house. 

Michael Atkinson

 Michael Atkinson was called to Summerville Baptist in 1991 as Minister of Education. During his tenure at SBC, he has witnessed the emergence of many Sunday School classes and DiscipleLife groups as well as a new educational complex.  Michael is a graduate of the Univ. of SouthCarolina and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has led Sunday School and Discipleship conferences on national, state and local levels.  Throughout the years, Michael has served in various other roles in denominational life, including being the President of the SC Baptist Religious Education Association on more than one occasion. He is currently on the SC Baptist Executive Board. Involved in the community, Michael has also served as Chairman of  the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels of Summerville.

Michael and his wife Sherry have 2 adult children and 1 grandson. He is an avid distance runner and enjoys working out, meeting people and enjoying new experiences.

Eddie Sayetta

Eddie Sayetta joined the staff at SBC in May 2007 as Minister of Music. Eddie has received degrees from Furman University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He  has served churches in both North Carolina and Georgia. Eddie has a heart for people and seeks to lead them to experience the Lord in corporate and private worship.

Eddie and his wife Mary enjoy spending time together and also with their pet dog, Murphy. 

Bert Fersner

 Bert Fersner joined the staff at SBC in 1999 as Minister of Single Adults. Bert is a graduate of the Univ. of South Carolina and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Prior to his call into church ministry Bert served with the Billy Graham Association.  Marrying later in life, Bert brings both experience and expertise to this area of ministry. Bert has established and led the Single Adult ministry at SBC to be one of the best and most well-rounded in the LowCountry.  Bert serves on various state and associational committees as well as on the Board of a local counseling center.

Bert and his wife Martha have 3  boys which keep them quite busy.  In his spare time, Bert enjoys walking and just relaxing.

Marc Ramsour

Marc Ramsour  came to Summerville Baptist in 2005 as Minister of Preschool/Children.  He is a graduate of Southwestern Theological Baptist Seminary and also Baylor University.  Marc's ministry is characterized by a strong desire for children to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ and to be able to express His love in their own unique ways.  Partnering with parents is also an essential part of his ministry as Marc seeks to link the church with the home in the spiritual preparation of children.

Marc and his wife Holly enjoy family time with their 2 daughters.  Marc enjoys basketball among other sports and interests.

Matt Kuhn

Matt Kuhn began his  ministry at SBC in May of 2006 as Minister of Students.  This is Matt's second time serving our students and their families as he did an internship here while attending Charleston Southern University.  Matt brings an enthusiastic energy to our student ministry and has great vision for the future of the mnistry and the students.  Easy to relate to, Matt speaks, demonstrates and lives the Christ-filled life among students. In addtion, Matt firmly believes in the discipling of students in the ways of Christ.

Matt is a 2004 graduate of Charleston Southern University where he majored in Youth Ministry.  He and his wife Mollie are a model for other young couples in their Christian walk.  Matt enjoys outdoor activities, meeting people and sharing in new adventures together.
