This coming week, we launch VBS which is one of the most intensive Bible studies of the year. Each day hundreds of children and younger youth will gather to learn from God’s Word, applications that will help shape their lives. This is truly significant.

A few days ago, I was in a conversation about how much religion affects us as children. This person talked of their strict and legalistic upbringing and how his concept of God and religion are still influenced heavily by his childhood. Another individual commented how they felt they could never be “perfect enough”, and so in essence they had rejected evangelical Christianity.

Our concepts of Jesus and His church are formed in our childhood and can often color our view as adults. That is why I often encourage people to take a fresh look at the Bible from an adult perspective.

Pray with me that VBS will have a very positive effect on the children. Pray with me that many will receive Christ as Savior. Pray with me that others will take ‘steps toward Jesus”.

Pray that this will be a Significant Summer in the lives of those who are involved in VBS and this life altering Bible Study.
