James' Jam - Encouragement -

As I sit down to write this “Jam” this morning, there are a lot of people and circumstances on my mind. There are so many people I love and care about who are going through really hard stuff right now. Honestly, over the last couple of months, as I’ve looked at our world and where we are as humanity, I’ve found myself distracted, annoyed, angry; I’ve spent a lot of time wondering what’s going on and how we can move forward.

If that resonates with where you are or what you’re feeling today, I want to encourage you with these verses from Psalm 118:

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever…Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear

Even when I don’t understand what’s going on, God is good. In the valleys or on the mountaintops, God is good. In all things, at all times, God is good!

As Pastor Randy reminded us this past weekend, we serve a God who is full of mercy and grace. And as we learn from Paul in 2 Corinthians 12, when we are weak, there is strength in God’s grace!
