Freedom is an incredible gift, isn’t it? I am grateful to be in a country where we have the freedom to gather together, worship Jesus, and follow Him each and every day. I’m grateful for the ideals set forth by our founding fathers of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, for each and every American. May we use the freedom we’ve been entrusted to continue building a better future for the generations to come.
I’m even more thankful for the spiritual freedom we find in Jesus. Where we deserve death, Jesus offers life, peace, and forgiveness. Jesus offers hope. I love Paul’s words about spiritual freedom in Galatians 5:13 “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
This Sunday is Faith and Freedom Sunday at SBC, and it’s going to be a great time of worship, food, and fun. As we move towards the weekend, let’s reflect on the freedom we have in Christ, and let’s find ways to use our freedom to encourage others in their faith! See you Sunday!
