Bert's Bytes - Operation Christmas Child

We believe generosity impacts the world.

This Core Value is clearly evident all around SB today. We celebrate the awesome endeavor of the Feed the Hungry Packathon last weekend. We are grateful for each person who served well and every donation that went to our goal. To God be the glory!

Packing continues as we engage in the mission of Operation Christmas Child. Two Sunday School Groups have already had packing parties. Children’s Ministry Random Acts of Kindness shopped and packed 200 boxes recently. We are joining four other churches to pack 1,000 boxes at Hutchinson Square in Downtown Summerville on November 7. Our church goal is 2,000 boxes to be dedicated and sent on November 14. Shoeboxes are available around the church. Please be part of this incredible opportunity to share the message and love of Jesus with children around the world.

As you pack, remember the most important part of your box(es) is prayer. Every boy and girl who receive a shoebox gift hears the Gospel message and gets a booklet with the story of Jesus in their language. Pray for open hearts to respond to the Greatest Gift of salvation through Jesus.

And don’t forget to “pack” your vehicle trunk for Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, October 31. Lots of candy is needed as we bless our community.

Packing, Praying, and Praising Together!
