Preparing For Easter
As of today — March 15, 2023 — we are 25 days from Easter Sunday, when we’ll gather in worship to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! Amazing, right? In 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, the apostle Paul reminds us how important this day is: “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures…”
I believe with all my heart that God wants Easter Sunday to be a significant day in your life and in the life of our church. So how can we prepare for an incredible Easter Sunday?
Here are three quick ideas:
Pray — Pray for God to work and for people to be transformed by grace through faith!
Invite — Think about your network: coworkers, neighbors, friends, and parents you see at dance or baseball practice. Whom do you know that is close to you but far from God? Ask them to join you at Easter services, and make it personal — ask them to sit with you and your family!
Expect — Ephesians 3:20-21 is true. God can do “far more abundantly than all that we ask or think” by the power of the Holy Spirit. So, let’s get our expectations up and believe that God will be glorified in the church and Christ Jesus throughout all generations!
